Information on the calibration of newly purchased equipment and what it means to you.
Calibration and its certification comes in varying forms on new equipment and in this section, we will break it down into the three areas that we use to classify calibration state at the point of purchase.
Manufacturers Calibration Certificate
This is a calibration certificate offered by the manufacturer supplied with the tester. This is also known as an end-of-line certificate or manufacturer’s certificate. These certificates vary depending on the manufacturer and product. They will not have your company's name on them and don’t always show proven test results.

This instrument comes complete with the manufacturer's calibration certificate. Please be aware that these certificates are generic and may also be time-lapsed.

A manufacturer's certificate of conformity is not a calibration certificate. It is merely a statement that the equipment has been produced to operate within its intended application, it has no traceable certificate or constitutes any defined results for accuracy before leaving the manufacturing process.

This instrument comes with a ‘manufacturer's certificate of conformity’. It is important to understand that this does NOT constitute a ‘calibration certificate’. A certificate of conformity merely states that the equipment has been designed and produced to meet the requirements of its intended application.
Where calibration of an instrument is possible we will offer this as a separately purchasable item and may be selected from the drop-down box above. This is a calibration certificate created by us at ISS. This certificate is fully traceable to national and international standards. The certificate will show your company's details, tester information, proven test results and the equipment used to carry out the test. Nearly 90% of all calibrations we do are done in-house in one of our many fully equipped laboratories. You can add this service to your order on the product page before you checkout.

Martindale DRUMTL10PD-S Test Lamp and Proving Device Kit
This handy bundle contains a Drummond MTL20 test lamp, a PD440-S proving device and a soft case.
The proving device can be used to verify the functioning of the test lamp.
A Closer Look at the Contents:
Martindale DRUMTL20 Test Lamp
The new Drummond MTL20 test lamp safe voltage indication from 50 – 500V AC / DC. In addition to the MTL10, the new model MTL20 incorporates two test buttons, one on the body of the unit and one on the probe. Simultaneous depression of both buttons enables the unit to draw a high current, allowing the user to differentiate between phantom voltages and hazardous persistent voltages. The robust design meets the recommendations of the Health and Safety Executive in their guidance notes on the electrician’s test lamp (GS38) as well as complying with BS EN 61243-3 and BS EN 61010, CAT III 1000V and CAT IV 600V.
A unique feature of this new Drummond test lamp are the four distinctive bands of illumination, with a 360° viewing angle, providing indication of voltages above 50, 100, 200 & 400 volts, even in bright sunlight. This allows for accurate identification of potentially lethal voltages at 50V and enables the user to distinguish between 110V, 230V and phase to phase voltages in a 3 phase system.
Both the lamp housing and the probe have a finger shield and insulated probe tip with only 4mm of exposed metal. A two layer double insulated cable with white inner insulation gives a clear warning of abrasion that might compromise the user’s safety, and is resistant against heat and oil. To enable use in most circumstances, a right angled probe tip is supplied in addition to the two straight tips. For maximum ease of use the right angled probes can be rotated through 90, 180 and 270 degrees.
Martindale PD440-S Proving Device
The Martindale PD440-S is a 440V AC proving device, designed to enable voltage indicators to be fully checked, in compliance with Health & Safety recommendations. Using a voltage indicator without first proving it is working correctly could prove fatal.
The PD440-S is compatible with the Martindale VI13800 & the Martindale VI13700.
It can also be used to check Drummond and other filament test lamps as well as standard multimeters and other manufacturers two pole voltage indicators.
There is now a facility to power the PD440-S proving devices with the addition of a 12V DC power connection point. The units can be powered by either alkaline batteries or a 12V power supply. There are two power supply units available for the proving devices, the PSUPD230 and the PSUHPAT12. The PSUPD230 can be connected to mains power and the PSUHPAT12 is a 12v power supply suitable for use in a car/van cigarette lighter.

Whilst we take the greatest care to get all orders dispatched and delivered to you in the stated time frame, orders received PM and requiring calibration may on occasion miss dispatch that day, according to the complexity of the calibration.Be assured they will ship on the next dispatch this in most cases should not add more than 24 hours to your delivery.
Bank/Public Holidays
Predicted delivery times are based on regular trading days Monday to Friday. Public holidays, bank holidays and weekends are outside the usual scopeof our dispatch and subject to activities/holidays of our carriers and therefore may incur additional days lead time to your order.
