Information on the calibration of newly purchased equipment and what it means to you.
Calibration and its certification comes in varying forms on new equipment and in this section, we will break it down into the three areas that we use to classify calibration state at the point of purchase.
Manufacturers Calibration Certificate
This is a calibration certificate offered by the manufacturer supplied with the tester. This is also known as an end-of-line certificate or manufacturer’s certificate. These certificates vary depending on the manufacturer and product. They will not have your company's name on them and don’t always show proven test results.

This instrument comes complete with the manufacturer's calibration certificate. Please be aware that these certificates are generic and may also be time-lapsed.

A manufacturer's certificate of conformity is not a calibration certificate. It is merely a statement that the equipment has been produced to operate within its intended application, it has no traceable certificate or constitutes any defined results for accuracy before leaving the manufacturing process.

This instrument comes with a ‘manufacturer's certificate of conformity’. It is important to understand that this does NOT constitute a ‘calibration certificate’. A certificate of conformity merely states that the equipment has been designed and produced to meet the requirements of its intended application.
Where calibration of an instrument is possible we will offer this as a separately purchasable item and may be selected from the drop-down box above. This is a calibration certificate created by us at ISS. This certificate is fully traceable to national and international standards. The certificate will show your company's details, tester information, proven test results and the equipment used to carry out the test. Nearly 90% of all calibrations we do are done in-house in one of our many fully equipped laboratories. You can add this service to your order on the product page before you checkout.

Drummond MTL15 High Voltage Test Lamp with Proving Unit and Case
The John Drummond MTL15 has a maximum working voltage of 1000V DC/AC rms and extended nominal voltage threshold indications of 50, 230, 400, 690C DC/AC rms. The CAT IV 1000V safety rating makes the MTL15 suitable for supply side applications in all installation categories as defined in BS EN 61010.
The robust design meets the recommendations of the Health and Safety Executive in their guidance notes on the electrician’s test lamp (GS38) as well as complying with the most recent changes to the voltage detector standard BS EN 61243-3 and the test equipment safety standard BS EN 61010.
Both the lamp housing and the probe have a finger shield and insulated probe tip with only 4mm of exposed metal. A two layer double insulated cable with white inner insulation gives a clear warning of abrasion that could compromise the user’s safety, and is resistant against heat and oil. The MTL Series of test lamps do not require batteries and have no ranges or switches to get wrong, ensuring reliable indication of hazardous voltages.
The MTL15 is supplied with six interchangeable test probes for safe and easy measurement in all types of application particularly where access is restricted. In addition to the standard 62mm straight and right angled probe, extended 130mm probes are included. For maximum ease of use, the right angled probes can be rotated through 90, 180 and 270 degrees and locked in position.
High intensity LEDs show four distinct bands of illumination for the different voltage thresholds up to 690V. The unique design provides a 360° viewing angle, even in bright sunlight. This allows reliable identification of potentially lethal voltages above 50V and enables the user to easily distinguish source voltages of different supply types. The MTL15 test lamp is the ideal solution for safely proving dead in many high power applications.

PD690 Proving Unit:
Safe electrical work requires the use of a voltage indicator or test lamp that has been proved with a proving device before and after use.
The MTL15/PD includes a MTL15 test lamp complete with a PD690 proving unit and the TC69 combination carry case.
TC69 Combination Carry Case:
This TC69 soft carry case ensures that your proving device is always on hand and provides the simplest solution for implementing safe isolation practices on-site in accordance the Electricity at Work Regulations. For convenience and to save time, the proving unit can be used without having to remove it from the case.

Whilst we take the greatest care to get all orders dispatched and delivered to you in the stated time frame, orders received PM and requiring calibration may on occasion miss dispatch that day, according to the complexity of the calibration.Be assured they will ship on the next dispatch this in most cases should not add more than 24 hours to your delivery.
Bank/Public Holidays
Predicted delivery times are based on regular trading days Monday to Friday. Public holidays, bank holidays and weekends are outside the usual scopeof our dispatch and subject to activities/holidays of our carriers and therefore may incur additional days lead time to your order.
