Information on the calibration of newly purchased equipment and what it means to you.
Calibration and its certification comes in varying forms on new equipment and in this section, we will break it down into the three areas that we use to classify calibration state at the point of purchase.
Manufacturers Calibration Certificate
This is a calibration certificate offered by the manufacturer supplied with the tester. This is also known as an end-of-line certificate or manufacturer’s certificate. These certificates vary depending on the manufacturer and product. They will not have your company's name on them and don’t always show proven test results.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
This instrument comes complete with the manufacturer's calibration certificate. Please be aware that these certificates are generic and may also be time-lapsed.
If you would prefer a personalised full traceable calibration certificate applied to the equipment before dispatch, then please select this option from the drop-down menu above, an additional calibration charge will apply.Manufacturers Certificate of Conformity
A manufacturer's certificate of conformity is not a calibration certificate. It is merely a statement that the equipment has been produced to operate within its intended application, it has no traceable certificate or constitutes any defined results for accuracy before leaving the manufacturing process.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
This instrument comes with a ‘manufacturer's certificate of conformity’. It is important to understand that this does NOT constitute a ‘calibration certificate’. A certificate of conformity merely states that the equipment has been designed and produced to meet the requirements of its intended application.
Where calibration of an instrument is possible we will offer this as a separately purchasable item and may be selected from the drop-down box above. You will be sent a full traceable calibration certificate produced in our laboratory and applied with your details as required.Personalised traceable calibration certificate from isswww
This is a calibration certificate created by us at ISS. This certificate is fully traceable to national and international standards. The certificate will show your company's details, tester information, proven test results and the equipment used to carry out the test. Nearly 90% of all calibrations we do are done in-house in one of our many fully equipped laboratories. You can add this service to your order on the product page before you checkout.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
We are on occasion able to offer FREE calibration on certain products at their point of sale (newly purchased equipment only) please look out for the following badge on the product's page to take advantage of this free offer.

CSCOPE DXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool
Designed for use with an SGA3 Signal Generator
Hitting and damaging buried services when excavating is costly and potentially very dangerous. The C.Scope Cable Avoidance Tool is the ideal ‘pick-up-and-go tool to locate buried pipes and cables, quickly and reliably, time after time.
Safe, Simple, Quick and Reliable
The C.Scope Cable Avoidance Tool has three familiar detection modes (POWER, RADIO AND GENERATOR) to select from. Each mode provides its own specific advantages. Many operators will be familiar with these operating modes.
The POWER mode is the quickest way to detect most buried electricity cables by detecting the signal created by the electrical current itself.
The RADIO mode detects re-radiated Radio type signals that are often present on metal pipes and cables allowing their position to be determined using just the Cable Avoidance Tool alone.
The GENERATOR mode is used to detect the signal applied to a metal pipe or cable by a C.Scope SGA3 Signal Generator. In addition the Generator mode can be used to detect the signal being transmitted by a C.Scope Sonde for non-metallic pipe tracing.
When combined with a C.Scope SGA3 Signal Generator and accessories, the Cable Avoidance Tool becomes a versatile, all round pipe and cable locating and tracing package. Robustly made and equipped with LCD meter, detachable loudspeaker and easy-to-operate fingertip controls the C.Scope Cable Avoidance Tool is the ideal Locator for all levels of staff who need to be able to detect buried services quickly and with confidence.
Depth Measurement:
The DXL3 Cable Avoidance Tool also features the addition of a simple to operate Depth Measurement button on the top of the product (for use in GENERATOR Mode).
Key Features:
- Power Mode
- Radio Mode
- Depth Detection
- Generator Mode:
33kHz frequency detection for locating utilities - Liquid Crystal display (LCD)
- Real Audio response
- Provision for spare battery storage
- Retractable loudspeaker
- Annual Calibration checks required
- Fully weatherproof design to IP65
- Three year warranty (conditions apply)
Increased Effectiveness, Less Cable Strikes
The SGA3 Signal generator (not supplied) is designed for use alongside an XL3 Cable Avoidance Tool. Using the combination of a signal generator with a Cable Avaoidance Tool makes the task of cable avoidance far more effectiveand significantly the number of buried services that can be detected and reducing the day-to-day risk of cable strikes.
The 33kHz SGA3 Signal Generator can energise a buried metal pipe or cable by either 'direct connection' to the target pipe or cable, or the simpler 'induction' method from above ground.
The CSCOPE SGA3 will optimise the performance of the Cable Avoidance Tool enabling operators to locate more buried utilities including street lighting cables.
The SGA3 features a 2 position power level adjustment so the operator has control of how much power is in use and when.
A pulsed or continuous signal output allows operators to switch to the pulsed mode at the push of a button in high interference situations and keep on tracing.
The SGA3 has a clear audible signal output to indicate when it is in operation. A useful in-built audio mute control is also included.
Batteries
Calibration
