Description

Testo 606-1 Moisture Meter 0560 6060

Overview:

The testo 606-1 moisture meter doesn`t fail to impress with a variety of quality features: easy to use, precise and absolutely reliable measurements, suitable for a wide range of different types of wood and building materials.

The two ram electrodes are pushed firmly into the wood or building material where they measure the moisture content as a percentage based on the dry mass (dry weight).

The hold function freezes the last measurement while the backlit display ensures that the meter can be used in all lighting conditions. A slip-on protective cap and belt bag ensure that the moisture meter is stored safely and a hand strap helps prevent the meter from accidentally being dropped.

Testo 606-1 Comes Supplied With:

  • Testo 606-1 moisture meter
  • Protective cap
  • Belt bag
  • Calibration protocol
  • Batteries

Checking wood moisture has never been simpler

When working with wood products, moisture content is more often than not of the utmost importance. If wood is installed with the wrong moisture content this may result in mechanical deformations (contracting and swelling) and therefore damage.

This could be pieces of furniture, or even the entire supporting structure of a building. Therefore, before being made into furniture or supporting material by a craftsman, the suitability of the wood has to be assessed by measuring the moisture content.

Having the ability to easily check the moisture content is also often important in the heating industry. Checking fuels like wood or pellets, is part of the daily duties performed by flue gas inspectors. A high moisture content in the fuel means energy loss and a waste of resources.

The testo 606 is pocket size meaning it is light and easy to operate. Although it is small in size it is by no means flimsy; thanks to its robust design it both looks and feels quality.

The material moisture is displayed directly in percentage weight, by means of stored material characteristic curves for wood. Characteristic curves are available for measuring wood moisture in beech, fir, larch, oak, pine and maple wood. The measuring instrument uses two electrodes which must be pushed into the material to get a reading.

Practical - the characteristic curves in the Testo 606-1 moisture meter

The testo 606-1 comes complete with a wide range of characteristic curves for wood and building materials. This allows the measured the moisture content to be shown directly as a weight percentage.

Characteristic curves for precise wood moisture measurements:

  • Beech
  • Spruce
  • Larch
  • Oak
  • Pine
  • Maple

Characteristic curves for precise building material measurements:

  • Cement screed
  • Concrete
  • Plaster
  • Anhydrite screed
  • Cement mortar
  • Limestone mortar
  • Brickwork

In addition to material moisture testing there is also an option for those who require humidity and air temperature measurements. With the 606-2, drying conditions, for example, can be assessed on site both quickly and reliably. The humidity sensor is particularly accurate and guarantees reliable measurement values.
