Information on the calibration of newly purchased equipment and what it means to you.
Calibration and its certification comes in varying forms on new equipment and in this section, we will break it down into the three areas that we use to classify calibration state at the point of purchase.
Manufacturers Calibration Certificate
This is a calibration certificate offered by the manufacturer supplied with the tester. This is also known as an end-of-line certificate or manufacturer’s certificate. These certificates vary depending on the manufacturer and product. They will not have your company's name on them and don’t always show proven test results.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
This instrument comes complete with the manufacturer's calibration certificate. Please be aware that these certificates are generic and may also be time-lapsed.
If you would prefer a personalised full traceable calibration certificate applied to the equipment before dispatch, then please select this option from the drop-down menu above, an additional calibration charge will apply.Manufacturers Certificate of Conformity
A manufacturer's certificate of conformity is not a calibration certificate. It is merely a statement that the equipment has been produced to operate within its intended application, it has no traceable certificate or constitutes any defined results for accuracy before leaving the manufacturing process.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
This instrument comes with a ‘manufacturer's certificate of conformity’. It is important to understand that this does NOT constitute a ‘calibration certificate’. A certificate of conformity merely states that the equipment has been designed and produced to meet the requirements of its intended application.
Where calibration of an instrument is possible we will offer this as a separately purchasable item and may be selected from the drop-down box above. You will be sent a full traceable calibration certificate produced in our laboratory and applied with your details as required.Personalised traceable calibration certificate from isswww
This is a calibration certificate created by us at ISS. This certificate is fully traceable to national and international standards. The certificate will show your company's details, tester information, proven test results and the equipment used to carry out the test. Nearly 90% of all calibrations we do are done in-house in one of our many fully equipped laboratories. You can add this service to your order on the product page before you checkout.
Where applicable we will include the following statement relating to the item/s on the products page under the heading *Important Calibration Information.
We are on occasion able to offer FREE calibration on certain products at their point of sale (newly purchased equipment only) please look out for the following badge on the product's page to take advantage of this free offer.

FLIR DM285 Imaging Multimeter
The FLIR DM285 Thermal Imaging Multimeter is a handy combination of a thermal imager and an advanced electrical measurement instrument with additional wireless and datalogging features. It can measure AC/DC voltage (1000V), AC/DC current (10A), resistance (50MΩ), capacitance (10mF) and frequency (100kHz) with further options for continuity and diode testing. It is also compatible with a type K thermocouple to measure temperature from -40˚C to 400˚C whilst a µA range can test flame sensors. The multimeter also boasts True RMS, LoZ voltage measurement and a VFD voltage measurement function.
The 160 x 120 pixel thermal sensor provides sharp thermal images by measuring temperature between -10˚C to 150˚C with ±3˚C accuracy. Thermal sensitivity of ≤150mK means that small temperature differences (0.15˚C) can be depicted on screen and the 50˚ x 38˚ field of view allows sharp focus at very short distances. Fixed focus and automatic ranging ensures that the FLIR DM285 provides the user with clear, useful thermal image.
The vibrant 2.8” colour screen shows thermal images in one of three palettes (iron, rainbow, greyscale) and provides the user with a digital temperature read out as well as a range indication. It has a wide angle design that can be viewed very easily and there is also min/max/average recording and a useful data hold function. Ranging is usually automatic but the user can take manual control if needed. The function is selected by the clearly-labelled dial and it is easy to navigate the intuitive onboard menu.
The DM285 Comes Supplied With:
- FLIR DM285 Multimeter with Infrared
- TA80 premium test leads
- Type K temperature probe (400 °F, 204 °C)
- 3 × AA Energizer batteries
- User manual/CD
Key Features:
- Thermal imaging allows you to quickly scan for overheating system components, then use the DMM test functions to troubleshoot and diagnose the fault
- Wirelessly connect to the FLIR InSite professional workflow management tool to streamline inspections and simplify data collection, sharing, and reporting
- Onboard data storage for both electrical parameter data and thermal images
- 18-function DMM including VFD mode, true RMS, LoZ, NCV, a built-in work light, and a laser pointer
- Measures voltage, current, frequency, resistance, continuity, diode, capacitance, and temperature
FLIR DM285-FLEX-KIT
The Flex Kit contains the FLIR TA74 Universal Flexible Current Probe Accessory which measures AC current from 0 to 3000A with three separate ranges - 30A, 300A, and 3000A - that have resolutions of 0.01A, 0.1A and 1A respectively. It has a 45cm flexible coil which can be threaded and wrapped around cables in awkward spaces. It is attached to the FLIR DM285 via the 1.9m connector cable.
The final main part of the FLIR DM285 Flex Kit is the tough FLIR TA10-F Case that can shield all the components of the kit. It has separate components for the multimeter, flexible current camp and other accessories. Test leads and a thermocouple are provided as standard and the FLIR DM285 is covered by a ten-year warranty.
